The story revolves around 13-year-old girl Marin Asagi, an orphan with an infectiously cheerful attitude and hyperactive imagination. She lives in a nagaya [tenement house] near the trolley tracks, together with a wacky mix of people who has become her family: an eccentric scientist, a lively foreigner, a quiet nurse, a dr unkard, a set of very cheerful triplets who love to cook food, and her grandmother Moto. Despite her underprivileged life, she manages to remain positive and upbeat about everything, with the help of her very supportive family and very close friends.
A typical girl with a typical junior high life [complete with bullies], Marin's life suddenly turns upside down the day Tokyo's sky was blanketed by a mirage of Brigadoon. Strange creatures called Monomakia are falling out of this mirage, and for some r
eason are chasing after Marin to kill her!
Enter Melan Blue, a Monomakia the color of pure sky. The silent gun-swordsman from Brigadoon assigns himself as Marin's protector, no questions asked! But why? Marin is very confused about everything, and it doesn't help that Melan Blue doesn't want to say anything about his mission!
How will silent Melan Blue cope with a very noisy and emotional charge such as Marin? How would Marin cope with a bodyguard who eats 50 bowls of rice every morning?? BRIGADOON Marin to Melan tells how a beautiful story of love and friendship could bloom in the most unusual of places, between the most unusual people!
